We had the dinner there after a show. It was quite late and there was still a long queue outside of the restaurant. So I highly recommend to get a number before heading there. The food was quite good. We had the ramen and cold dipping noodles and some dumplings. All good and delicious. The price is ok. The service was quite good except a waitress was a little weird but doesn’t bother us (to be honest )

If you're in the mood for some authentic ramen, Daikokuya is definitely worth a try! The ramen is well-balanced and not too heavy or greasy, with perfectly cooked noodles that are sure to satisfy your cravings. While the chashu donburi (pork bowl) may not be to everyone's liking due to its sweetness, the pork is cooked to perfection and the dish is still worth a try. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also a highlight, with an interior that transports you to a traditional ramen shop in Japan. Overall, if you're looking for a satisfying and authentic ramen experience, Daikokuya is a great option to consider. While I wouldn't necessarily give it my highest recommendation, it's certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

I love Daikokuya! The service is fantastic, the staff is super attentive, and despite the small space, the ambiance is cozy and well-organized. The food is consistently delicious. I’m a big fan of the chicken fried rice and, of course, the ramen. Plus, there’s always parking available, which is a huge bonus!

It's basically the Doctor Doom of ramen in the sawtelle ramen universe. It's not the best at any 1 thing but it is the 2nd best at everything. A real sum is greater than it's parts kind of place and one of the true holdouts for night owls since 2012. I mean what other restaurants are open in the Westside until 1AM? Not a lot since the pandemic. The spicy miso ramen is as dependable as an old friend and pair that with a Sapporo at the end of a long day and you can kinda catch a glimpse of the simple comforts that bring salarymen to tears

Daikokuya is the REAL deal. Thank you to Mel Tommy ktoro From the second we walked in, the staff greeted us like we were family. Top-tier customer service — attentive, fast, and they got our order right the first time. No long wait, no confusion… just straight excellence. And the FOOD? Absolutely out of this world. The flavors hit so hard it felt like we were sitting in Japan. Rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, everything balanced to perfection. Straight killer taste. My wife and I are not new to ramen — we’ve been all over SoCal trying spot after spot every weekend in LA. Places are usually a one-and-done… or they earn regular status. Daikokuya just became HOME for ramen. Easy 10 stars. If you’re reading this and love real ramen — stop thinking and go. You’ll thank me later.

The spicy vegan ramen is so freaking delicious and flavorful! I'm not even vegan but it's my go-to ramen here. The chicken one is alright, nothing stand- out. But the vegan one is topped with alot of tasty veggies. I add the eggs and cabbage and mm mm mm!!! My only complaint is the door situation. A lot of times they prop it open and boy does it let a cold draft in. It made it quite uncomfortable. We asked for them to close it and they did no problem. But after a while somehow it got propped open again.

Ramen was really good. Favorite in Sawtelle so far. I got takeout. They’re also open late which is something I find really nice. Good spicy tuna and quick wait time!

Went here with some friends yesterday and we ordered a bunch of things. Pretty much everything was good, and some items were very good. Loved the Gyoza - probably the best item we had yesterday. The sausages were very good too. The fried rice was decent, but didn't stand out. Thought it was a little drier than I like. The spicy ramen was good! Not particularly spicy though. Good service. We had a group of 6 and was able to get seated outside in under 20 minutes, at 6:15PM on a Friday. Inside the restaurant looks like crowded Tokyo streets - thought it was interesting.
